Literary Leaps — Probably the largest collection of book-related sites on the net. It's easy to add your site in five categories, it's searchable, and it's free.

Literary Market Place Online — A large part of this directory of the book publishing industry is browsable for free. Other parts are available only via subscription. Take a free look around all sections until the end of August, 1998.

Manuscript Depot — Showcases manuscript samples of novelists, non-fiction writers, short fiction writers, poets, playwrights, screenwriters, and self-published writers. These are paid listings.

Market-Smart Books — Features the latest and best Internet and marketing books.

Mystery Writing Center — The web site for Southmont Publishing, this site provides info of interest to mystery writers.

NetRead: The Publishing Portal — This site offers tools and services for writers, publishers, agents, contractors, and booksellers.

An online marketing cooperative for authors and small publishing companies. In addition to hosting Web sites and resources for authors, the site also sponsors a wide range of marketing programs, provides educational information and opportunities and hosts a consignment bookstore complete with a shopping cart and order processing and fulfillment.

Page One Literary Newsletter — A web site for writers. According to one of my correspondents, this site “gets high praises from a lot of published novelists and top publishers.”

Para Publishing — The site of Dan Poynter and Para Publishing. Lots of book publishing info here, including many free reports. Dan says he has more than 450 pages of free material on site.

Personalized Children's Books Association — This site offers a great list of book fairs around the country.

Preview Books — This site allows you to sell your books via downloads online. People can download the first part of a book for free and then must pay to download the rest. Presented by Oak Tree Publishing.
