Drugs Used  in Complicated  E. N. T  Diseases

1) Botox   This drug in injection form has been used successfully in following diseases;

   1)..Frey's Syndrome.   2)..Zenker's Diverticulum.

     In some cases of  Dysphagia due to Zenker's Diverticulum, when this drug injected endoscopically into wall of pouch and on posterior pharyngeal wall, very good and successful results were obtained.

2)..Neurontin  (Gabapentine)

This drug has been used successfully in  treatment of tinnitus.

3)..Stelazine 

Used in dysmosia in some cases successfully. It is trifluoperazine.  It is an anti psychotic, D-2 antagonist of high potency. The dose is 2 mg/ day.  It may be increase to a maximum of 10 mg/day.  This is a last resort of dysosmia.  Ruling out intra cranial tumors, intra-nasal/sinus pathology first.     Ref ; OTOHNS International ENT discussion forum.
